Fall or summer?
Well I came up today to start prepping for fall but besides a chill in the air it still looks like summer here.
Many of the plants are still untouched by frost and the geraniums are still budding. I can’t even take any leaves as they are still predominantly green.
It looks as though Pat’s grass garden did well over the past few weeks and even the hollyhock is still growing though I have been able to collect some seeds. We will see what the next few weeks have in store when we are both able to get here and start the end of summer shut down.
Summer is over and so is fall

There’s a chill in the air
The calendar says otherwise but it feels like fall out here.
There is a distinct chill in the air. I guess it is time to put the patio furniture away in the shed and tidy up the potted plants. Mulch the beds and put everything to bed until the spring.
How could it have been Labour Day just two weeks ago?
Yes there is raking to do…

Autumnal signs: an infographic
Fall is here and I haven’t done an infographic in a wee while so here goes.
While this is based on American information, I suspect it can be reflective of Canadian statistics as well. At least in terms of dopey people overdoing it. Raking is good exercise but it also gives you blisters and a back ache if you aren’t prepared. But a beer while raking often helps!
As for the trees info, well that is just interesting. Enjoy!
